Title Timeline of Los Encinos
The dates and circumstances of the rancho changing hands throughout its history. Authorship and sources are not clear, though it appears to be well researched.

RANCHO EL ENCINO - KING OF SPAIN
Spanish occupation of California began in 1769 with the title to all the land becoming vested in the King.
THE MEXICAN NATION
Spanish rule in California gave way to Mexican in 1822, through Mexico's successful revolt against Spain.
The Mexican Nation to RAMON, FRANCISCO, AND ROQUE, INDIANS
The transfer of the Indians' interest to Vicente de la Ossa was accomplished by a number of deeds from the Indians themselves, or their
heirs, between the years of 1849 and 1855.
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
California ceded to the United States by Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848.
Vicente de la Ossa's title was confirmed by the United States, which
issued its Patent on January 8, 1873.
On May 26, 1862, probate proceedings commenced in the Estate of Vicente
de la Ossa, deceased.
On March 6, 1867, Rita de la Ossa, widow of Vicente de la Ossa, pursuant
to an order of court, conveyed to James Thompson.
On March 25, 1869, James Thompson conveyed to Eugene Garnier.
On May 28, 1878, the Sheriff conveyed the interest of Gaston Oxarart.
On April 27, 1886, probate proceedings commenced in the Estate of Gaston Oxarart, deceased.
On June 1, 1889, distributed to Simon F. Gless out of the Estate of
Gaston Oxarart.
On November 19, 1889, Simon F. Gless conveyed to Domingo Amestoy
On January 22, 1892, probate proceedings commenced in the Estate of
Simon F. Gless, deceased.
On August 22, 1900, distributed to the Amestoy Estate Co. out of the
Estate of Domingo Amestoy, deceased.
On June 28, 1916, Amestoy Estate Co. conveyed to Title Insurance
and Trust Company.
On January 27, 1917, Title Insurance and Trust Company conveyed to
A.J. Amestoy, J.B. Amestoy, J.B. Amestoy, M.F. Amestoy, P.D. Amestoy,
Elizabeth A. Wells, Louis A. Sentous, and Juanita A. Gless
Estate Co., each an undivided 1/8th interest.
On February 10, 1944, the interest of the above named grantees conveyed
to C.L. Brown.
On June 1, 1945, Clarence L. Brown and Alice Joyce Brown conveyed
to O.M. Condon and Howard L. Bryan.
On June 1, 1945, O.M. Condon & Bernadine C. Condon, husband & wife,
and H.L. Bryan & Violet G. Bryan, husband and vufe, conveyed to
Title Insurance & Trust Company.
